Responsible Pharmacist Log
A pharmacy cannot lawfully be open without a Responsible Pharmacist on duty — and when a question arrives months later, it is always the first one asked: who was responsible that day? VeriPath Pharmacy keeps that answer as part of the day's work, signed on when the shift starts and off when it ends, rather than in a book by the till that has to be found, and sometimes cannot be.
The duty day, recorded as it happens
The pharmacist signs on at the start of the shift and signs off at the end, and the dashboard shows at a glance whether anyone is on duty right now. The legal day and the working day are the same record, written once.
One on duty, never two
A pharmacy can have only one responsible pharmacist on duty at a time, and the app will not let a second one sign on. The rule holds even if two pharmacists sign on at the same moment — so the log can never show a period with two people responsible for the same premises.

Signed as a pharmacist, not a login
Every entry carries the pharmacist's name and their GPhC registration number, taken as they sign on. The record identifies the professional — not a username that can be renamed, or a shared password three people know. That is what an inspection, an ownership change or an incident actually turns on.
Hand-overs recorded as hand-overs
When one pharmacist takes over from another, the shift is closed by whoever was there to close it, recorded separately from the person who opened it. Locum cover, overnight shifts and shifts that change at short notice all end up as what they were: a hand-over between named professionals, with a time on each side of it.

A record that cannot be tidied
The log is a record, not a working document, so the app refuses to delete an entry at all. A mistake is corrected by adding a new entry that supersedes the earlier one — both stay on the record, and the correction reads as a correction rather than as something that never happened. Entries are kept for a minimum of five years, with the pharmacist's account protected so a leaver's history cannot be quietly removed with them.
The answer, without a phone call
Any member of staff can see who is on duty now and who was on duty on any past day. For the pharmacist it is the shift record; for the owner it is the compliance question answered on the screen, years after the shift, without a search through a cupboard.
