Recalls

A recall list is worth exactly what the practice does with it. Every patient has a date they are due back; the hard part is seeing which of them have quietly slipped past it, and then finding the time to do anything about it. VeriPath Dental keeps that cycle running in one place — the due date, the rule behind it, the patients who are overdue, and the appointments that bring them back in.

Everyone due, in one list

The Recalls dashboard is the practice's whole recall position on one screen: how many patients are due, the rules their dates were worked out from — each appointment type with the interval it runs to — and the patients themselves, with their last visit, what they are due for and how far past the date they have gone. Nobody assembles it from a spreadsheet, and nobody has to remember it was due.

Overdue is a number, not a feeling

Days overdue sits on every row, and it keeps counting until the patient books. A patient a week late and a patient two years late look different on this list — which is what decides whether a recall gets chased or quietly disappears.

The interval is the practice's own

Recall intervals are set per appointment type, so a check-up is recalled at the interval the practice works to and a hygienist appointment keeps its own. The dates on that list are the practice's policy applied patient by patient, not a house default the software picked for it, and changing the policy changes what the list asks for.

The list works itself overnight

Every night the app picks up each patient whose recall falls due within the next thirty days and dispatches their reminder, recording the outcome against the patient's own record — one that went, or one that did not. Reminders keep running for patients who are overdue until they book, so the morning starts with the chase already part-way done.

The list becomes capacity in one action

For a practice manager the due list is also a booking list. Generate the recall appointments and the app creates a draft appointment for each patient who is due, so the diary is filled ahead of the phone calls instead of after them, and the capacity is there when the patients ring back.

The patient's choice, in a setting rather than a memory

Being contacted is the patient's decision, so it lives on their record as one: the recall profile holds their risk category, the date the recall falls due and the switch that keeps reminders running. A patient who has asked not to be contacted is turned off here once, and the practice does not have to carry a list of who they were.
